Mental characteristics
Personal history
Zinzi was born on Foxhollow Farm, destined to be a farmgirl and itching to be more. She developed a relationship with the spirit of Kallixo, a ghost inhabiting a long disused well on the property. Zinzi's family believed that she was simply a lonely girl with an imaginary friend. When she was nine years old, Foxhollow Farm was attacked by bandits. The savagery of the attack and the thoroughness of the slaughter was nearly inhuman, and Zinzi herself was run down and arrows peppered her back as she fled. She would have died next to the well, except Kallixo knew of ways to save her. Kallixo in life had been the apprentice of a necromancer, who sacrificed her and threw her down the well in a profane ritual. Kallixo bonded her soul to Zinzi's tethering her to the material plane in exchange for a permanent attachment.
As the sole survivor of the massacre, she was given to the Blackstone family to be raised in the Ossuary alongside Blackstone's son, Keel.

Zinzi is borderline misanthropic and has never made time for romance.
Education
Zinzi has been tutored from a young age by Kallixo, who not only taught her something of the arcane and profane, but also more mundane knowledge such as the Old Tongue and arithmetic.

Mental Trauma
Zinzi is deeply traumatized by the massacre of her family, and believes that there was a conspiracy by their landlord behind the attack. While she is quiet, she is also deeply angry.
The death of Keel has also deeply upset her, as she believes that she should have identified when he had been taken over by an Intellect Devourer.
