Pagelpilum

A Pagelpilum is a peer in the Principality of Ritilia. They rank below an Awotcovum and usually rule an area surrounding a small city or a town, rather than a major city.

Requirements

A Pagelpilum is a hereditary title, so the usual requirement is a direct ancestor of equal or greater title; however, the Vonuscidum could conceivably create an individual as a Pagelpilum who does not meet those requirements.

Appointment

The normal means of appointment is for the eldest living child of a deceased Pagelpilum to inherit the title, and barring intervention by the Vonuscidum, that individual is the presumed peer.

Duties

• Military service to their liege (usually the Vonuscidum, but it could be an Awatcovum)
• Political support to their liege and their heir-designate

Responsibilities

Governance, protection, and administration of the lands under their control

Accoutrements & Equipment

Platinum chain of office, set with sapphires on alternating discs.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Can be dismissed by their liege.
