Schruichterta

Schruichterta is a significant city-state in the Wusha Hills, serving as the chief settlement of the Spou dvaer. The current system of government has been in place since 606 LE, though the city was founded in antiquity.

Districts

There are two districts on the surface, and four more that are subterranean.

Surface Districts

Holdgate District

As the name implies, this is the district immediately adjacent to the city's single gate. The district is mostly the site of various military compounds - barracks, the armory, training grounds, and so on. There are, however, a few homes and businesses that cater to the military.

The Foreign District

Between the Holdgate and the passage leading to the subterranean portion of the city, there is a broad area of business, farms, homes, inns, and markets, where foreigners are allowed to come to do business. This district exists specifically because non-Spou are not allowed to venture deeper into the settlement.

Subterranean Districts

The Miner's Quarter

This densely-packed part of the city is where the poorest of the Spou live - the twenty-five percent of them who are miners. It has an unsavory reputation as a rough-and-tumble part of town, and more refined dvaer tend to stay away.

The Artisan's District

This district is home to the gemcutters, goldsmiths, bronzesmiths, and so on. All of the trades for which the dvaer are rightly renowned (save mining, of course) are represented here. The artisans live here, often in homes adjoining their workshops.

The Temple District

Though there are common businesses and residences here, this district is the home to every temple and shrine in the city, and there is one to each of the Khuldaag.

The Mastery District

This district is home to the nobles and the Ving. Government offices and halls are located in this district, as well.
