Master Sage Dedric Eregast

An esteemed scholar of the Bibliopolis in Quan, Master Eregast is a fastidious, clean-cut man in his late fifties, knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects, but in recent years focusing on "the practice of astral meditation, and the study of cyclical patterns of planar confluences." He is generous with his time for those eager to learn, but has no patience for the willfully ignorant. He has a raven familiar named Morrigan.
After magic-eating vermin ransacked his chambers, he enlisted the help of Mars & Jupiter, C351SL and company, who discovered the The Dollmaker's Attic.
He became aware of the Narrative Device and requested a demonstration. Procella Pergamin, Kingra, and company ventured into a book called Plume Winder and when they returned, they discovered he had attempted to follow, and had fallen into a comatose state.
He was, until recently, the wardmaster of Ebbenvogel Hall, but being indisposed and unable to maintain his duties, the abjuration wards have failed.
It was discovered that his soul had been captured by hags and traded to the eccentric lich Torwix the Magnanimous. The party won back his soul in a strange gameshow, and restored him to consciousness, whereupon he set about trying to re-establish the wards. The coven have so far thwarted these attempts, and caused him great mental distress with their manipulations.
