Artur, the Twice Cursed
"Burn the books! Burn the Idols! Nothing here can be permitted to reach the surace."The second son of Avgust, taller than many of his brothers, he was always imposing. There are no pieces of art, nor sculptures that depict him. For the Holy Books condemn this act. It is within books that you find his likeness. A shaven head, a face reddened and marred with burn scars, carrying a two handed mace while his brothers fought with sword and axe. Unlike others at the time who sought the thrill of the hunt he dedicated himself to aiding those more unfortunate than him, spreading the teachings of his gods to all that he encountered. His ambitions were constantly delayed, as he would try to balance all of the obligations he had. Perhaps in another life he may have become a paladin. The Curse took that from him. It is known that Artur was the most reluctant to accepting The Curse, openly refusing it when first offered, and passionately tried to convince his brothers to do the same. His pleads fell on deaf ears, and seeing them accept it, he felt it necessary to do the same. His new powers would be used, in his mind, for the only purpose it served. He made an Honor Guard of volunteers from his religous circles, turning them into his Vampiric Chosen. Together they led bands of mortals like shepherds. The mortals acted as support, field medics and extra hands where needed. Herbalism, magic, and which prayers to offer to the divine was taught to as many of his followers as he could, instructing them to teach and heal after the Orcs were dealt with. Artur is the most reclusive vampire, as are his Chosen. His lands are kept by Paladins, annoined and bearing many holy symbols. Religous services are held thrice a month, as the people beseech the gods for a cure. His symbol is that of hands outstretched, with thorns wrapped around the wrists.
