Maksna
Maksna, a land ruled by Vampire Princes, has been separated from the mainland by the Sister Seas, which now cut into the land after a mishap of Orc Wild Magic tore through the land. A land bridge has become the only accessible way to the mainland, which has caused trade to become nigh impossible between the Princes and the Kingdoms of Natia, Ramia, and Haria.
Plenteous forests adorn this beautiful land, growing in what appears to be an hourglass-like design. The northern lands and the south are completely covered in this thick woodland, while it dissipates within the midland, which in turn is mostly composed of hills, flat lands, and urban districts. The little wooded areas that they have are diligently maintained. Although nature itself has been corrupted through the power of the Curse, the woodlands hold an eerie, though deadly beauty to them. The very shadows seem to be brought to life in these haunting areas.
Found within the very heart of the midlands is the Capital, ruled by Prince Efram. It is a massive, intricate city, built to rival the city-states of the Ancients. The Capital is divided into three distinct districts; The Court, the Winter Ward, and the Twin Chapel district. The Midnight Court is where Efram rules directly. Unlike the Ancients, the court is not comprised of Elites, but those who are worthy of the courts. Diviners play a large part in this, summoning or manipulating those worthy of the Courts. The Winter Ward is the commoners district. Merchants and laborers are common, and there is an inn on nearly every street. Hidden bridges connect important buildings, offering a better alternative to traveling. The Twin Chapels is filled with people who are physically unable to survive within the walls of the Capital, those disfavored within the Courts, and the slothful. Bound to their Vampiric Lord still, these live within makeshift homes and live off the land. Two identical chapels have been built by Artur, offering aid for the unfortunate.
Coiled around the Capital are the lands of Artur. United in burning religious ferver, the Paladins of Artur are on a constant patrol, offering aid to the weak within their land and without. Giant abbeys and monestaries funded by retired warriors offer refuge for the afflicted and foreigner alike, bringing forth hundreds of warrior clerics, monks, and squires. Vampires are seldom seen, as most reside underground beneath the largest temple in the known world. The mortal races are free to do as they please with the least amount of interference from their rightful authorities.
In the South lies the Red Lake, hidden in a patch of Fey Woods, where the Iron Hounds of Borya face off against the Elfin Kings, who claim that these lands are rightfully theirs. Even the trees themselves have a stark contrast to the rest of Maksna, holding an otherworldly beauty in their colors, near perfection. These thorned trees magically interweave to protect the Elfin Kings, their protection from the Necrotic nature of the land coming at a price; separation. The impennetrable bark has left the two forces in a stalemate, neither having any true way of knowing what the other schemes. These two powers are not the only ones locked in a struggle for dominion over the south. Religious Knights from across the vast oceans have come, fighting holy wars against the undead legions.
