Aerolilia
Aerolilia, more commonly known as "Eldermist's Footfalls", is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant resembling a translucent lilly pad.
It forms large frond-like leaves linked together by unbranching root-like shoots (racemes). The fronds float in the air, congregate in masses, and are most commonly found along the temperate borderlands of the Skyfront Republic.
The largest leaves measure more than 15 foot in diameter and can support roughly 350 pounds before losing their hover and sinking to the ground. They flower in Floralis (Flowering) and Verdantis (Greening), producing delicate teardrop-shaped orchid-like blooms which are faintly aromatic - producing a velvety rich fragrance reminiscent of ripe blackberries and dark cherries accompanied by a hint of of vanilla and cedarwood. These blooms are a delicacy because they can be brewed into a stimulant tea which promotes wakefulness, alertness, and focus. Soldiers and sailors often use the tea to maintain peak performance for extended durations.
Essential oils from the leaves can also be distilled into Aetherspice, aka "Shiver".
Aerolilia are rumored to be the footsteps of Moonshadow, the last surviving Fae (and living spellbook) who fled the siege of Eldermist during the Purification Crusade in 996 B.C. (Before Cataclysm.)
