Talsworth

Written by Agent Serro

The only city within the region, which was built near the mountain base making it easier to defend. As humans live such short life spans, they tend to populate quickly, and the city has already been outgrown. With the population being so large, the city does actually import a majority of their products, so shipment wagons are always coming and going. The trade market here is a strong business and many businesses from all of the lands have imperial contracts dealing with Talsworth. There is a second city which has been built outside of the city walls, commonly referred to as the outer city and the inner city.
All government business is handled here, including law keepers, politicians, supporters, the upper elite of all types being focused on closed door meetings at all hours. Not uncommon for the power to shaft from one side to another within a matter of a few days. Political court proceedings are always closed to the public and information is heavily monitored to what the public really knows.
Within the inner city, Grand Duke along with his family resides within the castle from where the region is controlled. Military security is extremely tight within the walls, it's always a good idea to be on best behavior when visiting. Political figures, wealthy and the elite live in the inner city so most that are not dressed appropriately may not make it past the entrance gates. Non-humans are only allowed entrance with legal authorization and will be strapped of all weapons for their enter visit.
As with any large city, it has everything to offer but here you will find the regional headquarters for the church, administration, military and the only entrance to the imperial mines. Also, the mage academy, tower of enlightenment, regional counsel, Imperial Knight base and several different guilds can also be found here. The stores are known for being expensive, but this is due to everyone having only the highest quality items. If you're in the market for only the best and have a large coin purse, then make sure to visit inner city shops.
The outer city is fairly normal as far as nice cities are concerned. Don’t let the fact that this outer city is outside of the walls, security is just as strict here as well. Mostly humans live here but it is known that some non-humans also live here as well. You will also find numerous farms on the outskirts along with a few gain mills. Fresh water is brought in from mountain streams and lakes that are close by, along with having numerous water wells dug around the city.
The Empire is always about keeping the law, but here at Talsworth the law is strict and vigorously upheld at all times. Imperial guards are not stationed here, all city patrols and security are military. You will see plenty of Imperial Knights here as well because of their new headquarters being located inside the walls. Even the smallest of crimes are taken with the most serious of attitudes.
