Slehea
At the bottom of the world itself, this continental landmass centered around Kyre's south pole is large enough that the coasts are just warm enough to be habitable to the elves in the glacial valleys along its coasts, which surround a desolate realm of eternal ice and wind. While connected to the rest of Kyre's main super-continent, great deserts and mountains make it difficult to access by land unless you follow the coast, in which case you're probably better off braving the often icy waters of the region.
There is a healthy smattering of peoples here, especially human, but Elves are the main folk to call this harsh land their home. The wild elves live among the trees or on the open tundra, living mostly hunter-gatherer or herding lifestyles. The arcane elves live in cities that incorporate natural elements into their architecture.
Geography
This continent is centered around the south pole and is very cold, especially the further south one goes. Humanoids can traverse its vast landlocked icecap with the help of magic and lots of supplies, but it is too hostile to be settled. The tundra which surrounds it is home to a few nomadic peoples, who herd reindeer.
There are many glacial mountain ranges in this subcontinent. The ones by the coasts boast dramatic fjords, but the tallest mountain range is called the Luhorn. Its line of peaks separates Slehea from Yaslon to the North.
Fauna & Flora
The most complex plant to grow in the tundra is moss. Some animals like reindeer come around seasonally to feed on this moss, but not throughout the year. The short stretch of coast that borders the tundra directly is frequently clogged with chunks of glaciers and sea ice, but is home to blubbery sea-mammals, giant penguins, and various hardy fishes.
The tundra is surrounded by a nearly continuous ring of coniferous forest, which hosts creatures suited to extreme cold and scarce food. Travelling further north, temperatures get slightly warmer and more plant varieties can survive. The northernmost coasts reach into temperate regions, and host two different temperate rain forests with their own unique plants, animals, and fungi.
Natural Resources
Timber, furs, and game from the many vast forests are this region's primary exports. One peninsula is particularly suited for growing cereal crops, so that is a popular trade good within the subcontinent itself.
