Twinskeep

Twinskeep is the home of the Emilsen Family, situated at the confluence of two rivers, just southwest of Euvurcrest. They own the two bridges needed for traversing the two rivers and as such, generally decide who gets to cross it. They usually abide by what the overarching government of Eldurgrund  desires and are considered boot lickers by both the other lords and the governor himself. Aside from housing the family, the keep directly connects to a fort on the eastern bridge which serves as a good defense and allows for easy escape, should the lords and ladies need to flee.

Architecture

You can directly access the keep via its stone docks on the lowest level, and below that are the dungeons. The central floor has a diamond-shaped courtyard and one court where the lady performs most of her duties from politics, listening to concerns of serfs, eating, and others. Connected to this court are two towers on the back and a floor beneath that contains private quarters. As the name implies, each of the two main bridges contains a keep, where the family is split by the nature of their duties.

History

Twinskeep was built after the Augury took power, where they say the larger roads were built all in one day. As the road was paved, Twinskeep was erected and the empire placed the Emilsen Family in power. Ever since, the keep and its bridges have been crucial for all activity within Eldurgrund, garnering a certain amount of vitriol for the building and its inhabitants. The building was the first to get sacked by the Saltkrigere when Eldurgrund attempted to overthrow the Augury in the years following the silence. To make matters worse for the Emilsen family, regardless of their allegiance, they are stuck being the enemy of both their barony and the empire.   Given that the lords of Eldurgrund rumor the Emilsen Family to be traitors and spies for The Augury, the barony wouldn't hesitate to sack the keep in order to maintain order and control. On the other hand, The Augury assumes their loyalty to be under the barony, and would sack the keep in order to keep a chokehold on trade. Perhaps worst of all, the family chooses to serve no one but themselves, rather than picking a side. Perhaps this wouldn't be such a looming problem, but Twinskeep is fundamental to Eldurgrund and will always be the first area attacked during barony wide sieges.
