Yael Haerehel (Yale Hair-eh-hell)
Yael Haerehel was appointed alongside Uliyo Feneyl to lead a mountain fortress and to bring their corresponding families. This was an honor at first, but Yael would quickly find the work boring. No military events occurred, the mountain Guardians did not return, and they were left to perform natural research. Haerehel was friends with Riyael, but Uliyo always looked down on him, and most of his reasons were justified. Haerehel had an obsession with climbing the ladder of power. He wanted people to rule, a strong familial legacy, and a purpose. He found this purpose by copying Feneyl and expanding his fortress. The difference was that the southern mountain region had no valuable resources. Yael was simply copying Uliyo after seeing the success he gained.
He wanted to be "known" for assisting with blue-collar work and being a down to earth leader, but he could never follow through. He would reportedly work for a few minutes, and then complain that the conditions were not proper for him, or that he had an "injury." His people's general opinion of him can be summed up in an unnamed soldier's journal:
"He is... not ideal. Yael came to help us build the well, but after reporting that we had hours of work to go, he stated that there was "important business at the fort." His hands are soft and skin pale. If a random hour were selected, and a person in my sight at that time were selected, they would be better for the role than Yael."
-Unnamed Nim-El soldier.
Riyael, who had known him shortly when appointing him, quickly regretted his decision. Uliyo's and Riyael's annoyance at Yael could be considered the one thing they always agreed on. After his declared independence from Nim, King Riyael had soldiers march on his fortress. Most of Yael's soldiers surrendered. They didn't want to align with Haerehel, they were simply there when his independence was declared. Those who did fight were killed. Nim-El soldiers from Fort Feneyl assisted and Uliyo himself led the charge. Some think his desire to kill Yael himself was too far, but he didn't land the final blow regardless.
When Nim attacks came in the night, Yael did the one thing he thought would work: he ran south. His children did not follow. When Uliyo, Riyael, and their forces arrived at the main keep, his daughter, Paele, admitted that he ran. From here, they followed him. Archers shot him down, ultimately killing him with 27 arrows. Despite the mutual hatred between them, Uliyo commanded that the body be returned to his heirs for burial.
