Nim Begins Outreach Efforts to Kala

Cultural event

1096 P.E.

The attempt of Nim to reconnect with the J'barri of Kala after past conflict regarding the drastic actions of Ineva Kataqr.

After a loss of resources and desire to maintain connection with the J'barri, word reached the River Kingdom of Nim that the lionfolk were expanding their economy one more, reaching as far as the southern elves. For a litany of social and political reasons, Vhou Riyael wished to join the fold of this expansion early. He would begin a corresondence through a group of envoys for months before eventually returning to Kala himself.   Vhou Riyael would write of his first impression of the "new nation" that Kala had become. While they had lessened their trade with the elves, they had grown "three times" the size it had once been since his prior visit centuries ago, but it had become decrepit and lost its past "nobility and pride." Vhou would meet with the Oligarchy of Kala and express his desire to extend aid to the nation. He proposed funding to renovate the nation's largest cultural and political centers, harkening on the spirit of the J'barri before Ettermiddag, which Vhou had a unique personal memory of. In exchange for the funding, Vhou would request a temporary seat alongside the oligarchy. While this request was initially rejected, Vhou was able to request certain trade exceptions from the people of Kala, such as the unique sale of coffee to Nim.   While it would take a few years, Kala and Nim would eventually restore faith in each other, remembering the history of brotherhood between the elves and J'barri. In the years to come, Vhou would slowly begin to reinvigorate his elvish peers' interest in Roja with hopes of liberating the bronze nation from its financial shackles (though this has still not been accomplished as of the year 1947).
