Marriage
The marriage between Anise Helgaard and Kanel Logratte. This marriage was used to unite their respective families, supporters, and resources.
This marriage would result in a cascade of new gods being recognized, growth in the territory, and a silent war between the haseti and the Alliance (an unofficial name for the families used by the haseti). The haseti was the largest military force in the family, and there was little hope of changing this; as a result, the Alliance sought to gain territory, resources, social support, and theological control from behind the curtain. For years, the Logratte Family worked closely with Narfi and his haseti, so they knew much of their opponent's political skills and military capability. The territory under the Lograttes functioned as a separatist group, giving less in taxes and being able to remove their family members from the haseti in times of conflict. Under marriage, these rights would transfer to the new family as well. By performing a public (yet illegal) marriage ceremony under the new god "Silset," they had promised these separatist benefits for the Helgaards and the people within their territory. With time, citizens under the Helgaard Family enjoyed their new financial and social benefits, so when the haseti pushed back for the illegal marriage circumstances, the people were furious. Further, introducing a new goddess and utilizing some heard mentality, Silset became part of the Helgaard and Logratte identity. Trying to denounce this goddess would result in an uproar for the haseti. These predictions eventually came to fruition but resulted in an odd war that would shape humanity's culture forever.
