Krato

Krato is a thin band of land on the eastern coast of Aux. It is home to the naval Kratian League and Kratian possession of the land is often fiercely contested by the Sugazeh Tribes. Approximately 200,000 people live in an area that covers 128,000 square kilometers and, as Kratians mainly reside near the coast or rivers, the majority of the area has a desolate feel to it. Krato is very warm all year round and is well known for the rain that blows in from the east.

Geography

The borders of Krato aren't well defined as the Sugazeh Tribes constantly raid the area but it is commonly thought that they encompass the east coast of Aux between Sugazeh and Montihume. As a result of their reliance on their sea-going vessels, the Kratians predominantly lay claim the areas of land nearest to water, with the exception of Inder's Tower which is situated inland.

Fauna & Flora

One of the defining characteristics of Krato when compared to Sugazeh is their more docile wild life. Instead of the hunting birds that populate Sugazeh, finches are commonly seen in Krato as well as large land mammals such as cows and bison. The main hunting relationship in Krato exists between small cats and the abundant amount of domestic chickens.   Occasionally a larger animal such as a rhinoceros or an elephant will cross into Krato from areas considered to be Sugazeh territory. However, the true danger lies in the risk of predators such as hyena packs crossing the imagined boundaries.

Natural Resources

The many rivers in Krato provide the key resources of fresh water and fish which Kratians rely on for their existence. Greenstone, which is a valuable trading commodity, is often found in or around these rivers.
