Montihume

On the southern tip of Aux is the land of Montihume. It is south of Krato and Sugazeh, covering an area of 272,000 km² and, with a population of 1.7 million, the area feels sparsely populated, especially in the south where people keep to their settlements. Travelers visiting Montihume should expect a lot of rain with relatively cold seasons and little sun.
The southern region is hilly and called Southern Montihume.

Last Stop

Last Stop is a Montihume city that is the last stop before the wind takes ships away from the coast. It has large docks for the purpose and wide roads to allow transport. A central castle and a ringed stone wall.

Running Heart

There are two extremely important regions for the people of Montihume. The first is named The Running Heart and is located close to the centre of the Northern plains. Here is where the elder priests of the Harmonic Doctrine decide if someone can be a priest or not. Entering this area is required to begin or finish the process of becoming a priest.
Running Heart is a collection of hills in the middle of a flat plain. Rivers run between them, forming lakes in the hollows. It has a set of hills that have the look of eroded mountains.The stone has a greenish hue.

Geography

The Northern part of Montihume , south of the Sugazeh Tribes. It is a region of constant skirmishes. It is thought of as stretching from the rivers of Running Heart to the edge of the Salt Flats.

The Hold

The Hold which is directly south of The Running Heart but not quite at the coast. The Hold is an ancient military bunker that the people of Montihume believe will shelter them when the world ends again. The great doors lie open so a massive stone slab has been put next to the door, it has large holes on one side for ropes to be put through. The plan is to have horses drag it in front of the door when the area needs to be sealed. Poured stone for the outside facade. Greenery has grown over much of the building with vines hanging down over the entrance.
It has two large fjords running through the land called The Gaping Mouth and Lost Sister. The southern area is made up of many hills called the Stone Hills. The northern area is a flat plan except where the Running Heart, a area of hills and rivers, starts. the Running Heart acts as a barrier to invasion from the north and the hill mounted castles protect the south from sea raiders.

Fauna & Flora

In all areas horses can be found, mainly bred but also some wild herds. Gayal and bisons will often roam with them and cheetahs hunt them in the northern areas - and also act as companions to the locals. Pigs, goats, horse and cows are the herd animals of choice with the northern areas being widely populated by them - dogs are kept to aid in the herding. the fjords have a large amount of waterfowl living in them with ducks being common.

Natural Resources

The main resource of the region is the clay that is found around the fjords. Stone is also quarried in heavy quantities to make the castles common in the southern area. Corn and soybeans are the main agricultural crop of the northern area.
