Sugaz
The people of Sugazeh, representing a wide array of tribes, each with their own individual practices, some traditions tie them together though. The land of Sugazeh is so deadly that groups are very indifferent to individual members. Often people will be treated poorly until they accomplish a feat of daring which then becomes their name.
Stereotypes
Others see the Sugaz as savages who can't create things on their own so they steal the work of others. People also judge the tribes together often and will refuse to learn all the titles that makes up a Sugaz name.Naming
The Sunkissed don't have names as many will die out before achieving anything. Only those who can do something of value will be given a name based on what they do. They will keep adding names based on what they do. Example: Watchful-Bearbane-Weaponsmith, someone who found something interesting, killed a bear and created an important weapon.Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
Competitions showing physical skills are common in Sugaz; running, high-jump, weight lifting and wrestling are all prominent. Rugby and baseball are the only team sports that have caught on. Oral story telling is common, often the Madcapped will have their stories told and bards have become a realistic profession for Nameless who can't make it as Madcapped - the common story themes are heroism and feats of strength. Other common trades include bone and leather working.
Moralitity is decided by the Madcapped or leaders of a tribe, what happens in their tribe for one crime might be completely different than that of another.
Sugazeh Song Lines
The Sugazeh tribes make songs out of landmarks which let them navigate the inhospitable land. The lines will be kept to the tribe mainly, requiring a local guide to pass safely through someone else's territory. The songs are passed down to children through group songs.Common Etiquette rules
How the young and the old are treated depends entirely on what names they have earn in life. This often means that the elderly are only those who have accomplished much in their life and they are seen as wise elders. The young often have a hard time as they have not had the chance to earn glory.
Racism is uncommon for the Sugaz, they are as willing to raid another Sugaz tribe as much as any other nation - though rivalries will make some targets more likely. They are disdainful of how other nations treat their tribes though and this can lead to anger.
Common Dress code
Dressing for fashion doesn’t exist for the masses of nameless but those with a name will often take some form of dress to represent them. Some will base this on one of their names and make it be a primary name. For example someone called Lionkiller might wear a lion skin to be easily identified. Tribal group costume will often be formed with each member of the tribe wearing a similar theme of clothes such as lion products.
The Sugaz will often dye themselves or pierce their flesh with animal bones however they don't produce dyes commonly but when they do they will craft yellow dye. They also steal dye and clothes, usually in reds, blues and greens from the other nations.
Art & Architecture
The architecture of Sugaz is highly varied between the tribes, generally homes are normally made of mud brick or in the shade with a large amount of timber. Large shared buildings are common and adaptions for the different harsh conditions are common.
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
Superstitions
Individual tribes will often have their own superstitions but there are some shared cultural norms such as attitudes towards fate. The Sugaz in general do not believe in fate, instead that each person forges a path through sheer force of will. More can be found on Seeing the future: A guide to fortune telling.Coming of Age Rites
A child isn't considered worthy of any attention until they perform some act that gives them a name.
Ideals
Relationship Ideals
In general the sexual and relationship preferences of others aren't cared about - though trying to steal someones partner will lead to conflict. Individual Madcaps may have thoughts on this and force them on those around them though.
