The Triskelion School for Mages

Formally founded over 1,000 years ago in approximately 900 EM by the First Arcanist Bhíralíze after Bhíralíze’s schism with another, now-defunct, mage cloister after gathering his following. Bhíralíze’s followers banded with their leader to found a new mages tower, The Triskelion, focused on building a new organization that, unlike their contemporaries, vowed acceptance to people of all social statuses. Without no other alternatives, all persons who wished to study magic flocked to the Triskelion for instruction. As more students have joined the university throughout the centuries, so has the reach and responsibility of the school grown.

Structure

The Triskelion School for Mages is led by a position known as the First Arcanist. The First Arcanist oversees all aspects of the school from political interactions to yearly curriculums. The position is officially filled by a vote from the Second Council, though a successor chosen by a standing First Arcanist is usually honored.   The Second Council is a group of nine powerful Mages appointed by the First Arcanist. A mage in the position of a Second Council's seat will fulfill the role until their death or until they are physically incapable of performing their duties. The primary duties of the Second Council involve bureaucratic debates on internal matters involving changes to the school facilities and faculty.   Professors and Tower Mages make up the remaining positions with the Triskelion organization. Although the two are not mutually exclusive, a professor will spend each day teaching and evaluating students on their capabilities. Tower Mages are individuals who have graduated from the school and have remained to become instructors and researchers or have left the tower grounds to research in the field and abroad.
