Shinobi section
"There are those who think people in my profession are a bunch of 'spooks' that hide in the shadows and work as assassins or spies. That is not the way of the shinobi. We are given a task and we will finish it as quickly and subtly as possible. You will not find us in the shade. We will pass you by as common strangers or someone you will trust. You will not know we have finished our business, until you make a closer observation. That is our way." Shingetsu Hiro, shinobi of the Shingetsu Clan.Section of Rogue academy where you can specialize into becoming a Shinobi. It's located to the east from the Thief Section. Various classes in this section will teach the art of fulfilling missions or tasks outside of the awareness of those exploited. They also teach ways of infiltration, manipulation, advanced tool use, and disguise. They cannot teach everything however, as there are some secrets that are still kept within an isolated shogunate that these lessons originated from.
Purpose / Function
To teach students the way of the shinobi and ways to exploit the mind to fulfill most stealth-based tasks.
Shinobi Psychology: Students learn how to exploit daily routines and common behavior. Lessons include ways to stay out of the line of sight or avoiding the most common places guards may look.
Herbology: Students are given lessons on plants and herbs that can be gathered to prepare for a mission and their uses for any given situation. One lesson discusses the use of ground peppers as a means of escaping conflicts for a quick getaway.
Disguise: Students are given the task to choose seven disguises and are graded on how well they use them in different scenarios. These disguises can include people of other professions, races, and genders.
Advanced Tool Use: Students learn the various uses of seemingly simple tools. One example is with the ninjato (shinobi short sword), which has a sheath can be used as a quick stepping stool, an extra place to keep herbs or poisons, a way to block attacks, a tripwire, and a snorkel in water.
Ninpo: Students discover the power of "ki" or spirit energy to enhance their stealth and other methods to complete their mission. Lessons may include shugendo spells for a bit of magical assistance.
Alterations
Kunoichi Club: This all girls club was founded in recent years after more scrolls were discovered in a hidden compartment of the first sensei's office. The techniques in these scrolls can only be used by females and are not practical to teach in most classes with mixed students.
Architecture
The structure is made from wood, bamboo, and paper. The roof is built from terra cotta clay.
History
The Shinobi Section was built after the academy added a renegade from an isolated shogunate to the staff. The courses taken there are based on the scrolls he had stolen from his former clan. For generations, this section has provided lessons for rogues and aspiring shinobi alike to approach their tasks with patience and subtlety. However, the first sensei died in his old age, along with the unwritten secrets of his clan.
