Shalgrid Trott (SHAL-gree trot)

Shalgrid Beatrice Emilia of House Trott, Baroness of Thame, was a Noble known for ruling the Prime Estate of Thame in her father's name.

Description

History

Shalgrid was born in Tahme, the first child of Duke Zenechar II of Tahme and his wife Emilia Margarete Elisabeth of House Bronton. From an early age, she hated that her younger brother, Absolem, would inherit because of Reikland's use of agnatic primogeniture, so she toiled endlessly to secure her father's favour and respect. Her brutal successes ruling Tahme with a bloody fist when her father warred abroad eventually bore fruit. In 2508IC, Trott disinherited Absolem and installed Shalgrid as the baroness of Tahme. Shalgrid immediately moved to secure control, first bringing her younger brother to heel in the kennels of the Tahmenschloss, then sending her younger sister to Altdorf to respresent Trott concerns in the Volkshalle.

Personal Life

Shalgrid never married. Instead, her many lovers included Lady Beatrice of House Havelfurt, Absolem's wife, with whom she lived in the Tahmenschloss; Captain Jettenstein of Trott's Marauders; and the aging Baron Karl-Fredrick of Holswig.

Appearance

Although Shalgrid was recognised as one of the most striking women in the Reikland, she cared little for her appearance. Instead, she chose functionality and severity over beauty and fashion, dressing for her beloved hounds, not her court. Like her father, she shaved her head hair completely, making her appear quite alien to many of the other nobles of Reikland. Her eyes were dark grey, sharp, and calculating, and her face was deeply scarred from multiple demigryph and gobhound attacks.
