Headmaster Skip Day
aka Birthdays at Lawke's Academy
Ichabod Drexel slowly wakes as the sun crests his window, spilling light across his face. He lets out a sigh and tosses his blanket aside with a grudging reluctance as he sits up in bed.
Out of the corner of his eye, something is off. A folded piece of parchment with a wax seal has been carefully placed just inside his door. Curiously, and cautiously, he crawls across the floor. Taking the parchment into his hands, he breaks the seal. He reads:
Master Drexel, You have been excused from your morning classes and your presence is requested in the Headmaster’s Office at your earliest convenience. Breakfast will be served on your arrival.Edith A. Lawke

History
As a professional Adventurer for many years, Headmaster Lawke knows how difficult special occassions can be away from home and family. "Headmaster Skip Day" was founded as a way to give the students something special to commemorate their birthday, as well as a chance for the Headmaster to get more familiar with each of her students' interests and talents.
Execution
"Headmaster Skip Day," as it has come to be known amongst Lawke's attendees, is highly individualized to the student who is having the birthday. However, there are certain commonalities that make it tradition:
- Celebrated on the anniversary of the given student's birth.
- The student always wakes to a summons to the Headmaster's Office.
- Headmaster Lawke and the student have a chat over breakfast.
- Breakfast consists of eggs, fresh-sliced tomatoes, seasonal fruit, and pastries.
- The eggs are served in the student's preferred style.
- The pastries always include both Lawke's and the student's favorite.
- The greater portion of the day is spent with Lawke in an activity commensurate with the student's current field of study/interest. Typically, this involves a visit to Haverstock , Fiskhund Lake, or the The Mångfald Wood .
- The day ends with dinner in the Great Hall with the rest of the students and faculty.
- At the conclusion of dinner, everyone sings "Happy Birthday."
- Everyone is served dessert as per the student's birthday tradition
