S16. Removed the Red Cloaks Report

General Summary

Marpenoth 29 - 30
The party checked the rest of the dungeon and found some interesting items and treasure. They decided to head over to the Sleeping Giant Tavern to find more Redcloaks to kill, and found the place empty except for the barkeep and a tiefling nursing an ale, and by nursing I mean like an army nurse.
The "Crappy Bard" in the corner lived up to his name, but Flicker gave him a silver piece in his tip bowl, which made him play worse and louder, and she quickly informed this this was the opposite outcome she was seeking. Bitey agreed. And then cursed at her and tried to bite her again. But she could no longer understand Bitey, so she assumed affection.
They asked the barkeep if he had seen any of the ruffians, bit his lips were apparently sewn closed, so Eethyl asked the Tiefling and lost interest and left the bar to explore the rest of the room, meaning he sat at a table.
Damaia and "Fortune" got to talking and during the enthralling convo the barkeep was replaced by a female dwarf and tried to slip out the door. Flicker caught on quickly and blocked his way so he pulled out a rag and cleaned a table, which is what he intended to do anyway, regardless of what the druid was up to. As soon as she was distracted he bolted for the door and ran off.
Meanwhile the dwarf declared the ale was all gone, and the tavern was closing and tried to shoo everyone out. Flicker called her out on her shenanigans and then magicked up her staff. The dwarf called her back out and said if she wanted to pay for an empty mug she might let them stay, but empty mugs were hard to come by around here, so they would cost 20 gold. Flicker saw her bet and called.
Crap. OK. So the dwarf said she had to go find an empty one, and disappeared somewhere. After a while, it was clear somewhere was too far away from here to ever come back...and 20 gold would probably buy her the whole way there. The team started a search and found a trap door to the cellar and no other exits. So she must have gone down there. It was barred from underneath, so Keth took out some agression on it, and Fortune made his debut maneuver with a clever slide down the ladder/stairs, finishing with a flourish at the bottom that - don't be fooled - just *looked* like he slid onto his ass.
Flicker sleuthed her way over to a large cask on the wall and opened it right up to find the very expected tunnel behind it while Eethyl tried to locate the jaw he dropped on the floor somewhere.
The tunnel led to some kind of immature painting on the wall hiding a secret door of sorts.
After an initial scare, Keth finally got the door open and found himself right back outside the wizards chambers where they just were not long before. The went back to the tavern, and holed up there for a long rest before heading back to the cave and crevasse where the one-eyed creature was expected to be.
A fight ensued, of course, and the heroes eventually beat the thing into submission, meaning they killed it dead.
