Claudia Septima Montani
Claudia Septima Montani was a decorated soldier of the Empire of Kataris, and bearer of a Geasblade. Following the fall of the Katari Empire she deserted her post on the order of her superior officer, Gnaeus Tertius Claro, and joined his warband, becoming one of his most feared enforcers albeit reluctantly. Whilst she attempted to be a moderating influence on Gnaeus, she was nonetheless complicit in the looting and atrocities that his warband committed - including the murder of Faelan, the son of Macdara Wayfinder.
After Macdara laid his curse upon the soldiers as they sheltered in the Iatromantion Kalaon near Lith Kala, Claudia was able to break away from Gnaeus' influence and avoided falling to the utterdark as he had done, choosing to barricade herself into one of the rooms of the complex with the corpses of several of the priests that Gnaeus had ordered be killed; she eventually starved to death in the darkness, refusing to defile the dead by giving in to the cannibalistic urges that had swept through the rest of the temple.
Unable to move on to whatever afterlife awaited her due to Macdara's curse, her ghost lingered in the Iatromantion until 1344AK, when a party of adventurers breached the tomb, slew Gnaeus, and laid the dead to rest. Her geasblade was destroyed by the phoenix Sha'tzat Alutos, who considered it to be anathema.
