Countess Ellen

Lady Salisbury

The Widow of Roderic of Salisbury
Only surviving child of the wealthy baron of Anna's Water, Ellen was courted by almost half the kingdom, but was ultimately wedded to Roderick of Salisbury. At court, it is known that Ellen is a careful and metriculous woman, who doted on her daughter Jenna for most of the girl's childhood, but also grieved over the fact that she could not give her husband a son. However, in the blessed year of 492, she gave birth to a son, who was named Robert, and he would one day succeed his father, the Count of Salisbury.   Across Logres, Lady Ellen is praised for her prudence and temperence, her skills with the Earl's household as well for her devotion to her husband and his lineage. Some call her the very image of a noblewoman, but other claims that she still bears affections for a former suitor, the Silchersterian Sir Blains of Levcomagus.   Now, as a widow countess, she tries to keep her husband legacy intact until her son comes of age.
