Madoc ap Uther
Prince
Known to many as the Bastard Prince of Logres.
The ambitious, energetic son of King Uther and a young commoner named Rhoswen.
He was ruthless to his foes and generous to his followers. Madoc had a set of those he considered his and often integrated them into his household, and was openly skeptical of everyone else.
Some of his retainers warded his properties, but most of them were the young knights of his warband. He quickly took umbrage whenever anyone presumed upon his rights and prerogatives, or overstepped the rules of courtesy trying to be friendly. He met Sir Aldwyn of Newton , Sir Reccared the Golden, Graid ap Owain and Aurelius Sertorius after being squired with Sir Solis de Toulouse and had a few clashes of personality with them, but in the end built up a good relationship with them after years of being at odds. At the Feast in Salisbury, Madoc was accoasted by Baroness Rhianneth who tried to seduce him, a ploy to rid herself of her dour husband. Sir Aldwyn managed to wake up Sir Reccared, and they offered to champion Madoc, earning Reccared a victory and a place of respect in the eyes of the Prince. Madoc lead the expedition to Frankland, and was the one who ordered Count Roderick ap Robyn and the Salisburians to guard the retreat from the approaching King Ragnachar.
After the Expedition, Madoc was told to wed Baroness Rhianneth for her holdings, but he never sired a child on her, resenting her, but instead fell in love with the daughter of a hunter of Tribruit, who gave him a son named Eliwlod. After the Battle of Lindsey, the Knights of the Lake were named as the Prince's Companions. A task brought them to the disasterous court that caused the spilt between Gorlois and Uther to deepen further, as the Prince angrily chastised Sir Graid for his presumptions to stop a war with Cornwall.
However, that following summer, Madoc died fighting against Gorlois at Terrabil, only for Graid to be the one to avenge him.
