Sir Reccared the Golden
True to his heart and his ideals - Unrelenting in Battle
Knight of Baverstock Reccared Perrines de Toulouse (a.k.a. The Golden)
Possibly the finest Knight of Britain.
One of Britain's Three Swordsmen
Lord Protector of Salisbury
The grand-nephew Sir Solis de Toulouse, the White Fox, Reccared was expected to be a man of greatness.
And, that was not a false hope. After proving himself among his peers, Reccared championed Prince Madoc ap Uther in a judicial duel due to the machinations of Rhianneth. After that, he was the talk of the Realm, a paragon of strange and foreign values that still seemed to appeal to young knights and dreamers. He was just, merciful, honorable, energetic and generous. His first love was Adwen, but that was a short happiness. After his great deeds at the field, the loss of his beloved caused him to run into the wilds for several years, only to return with his eponymous golden helmet at the Battle of Linden Pool. At some point, he wed again, and this time, his bride was as notable as he. Gwenfrewy de Pase was a northern beauty who had won Reccared's heart during his travels, and their love was one for the ages.
One could say that Reccared loved deeply and fiercely. But when the world came to bring ruin, his sword and passion guided him forward, even when it fell to him to be the guiding symbol of knighthood during the dark years of the Anarchy. He was Salisbury's Lord Protector, a proud father and a knight whose deeds was song around the fire to give hope for heroes in a dark world. After Netley Marsh, he oversaw the knighting of Robert of Salisbury, stepping down as Lord Protector, finally retiring to his beloved manor in the hills around the Grovely Woods.
