The Common Religion
The common consensus with how everything, and everyone came to be. The one deity that rules over every natural law, and every natural being.
History
This belief spans all the way back to the old world. The old world was made by Deos, but mortal beings are flawed, and they all rebelled against their creator. They turned their once perfect home into a den of sin, and suffering. On Eternity, the people have a fresh start, a shot at salvation. Though each people group has had other figures appear through the ages, there is one common consensus.
Mythology & Lore
Deos is the creator of all things. Though many don't know for sure, some believe that he made Eternity as well. Deos chooses people to fulfil a part of his grand plan. Horoth, and Arotha saved the refugees, and allowed this fresh start to happen. Those who follow his plan on such ways, are granted a place among himself, and others who have done so. Deos still watches over all, and has a purpose for each one.
Divine Origins
This truth started at the very beginning of all. In the first days of the first world. A time when sin had not yet touched the hearts of Deos' creations. A time when he could walk among his creations. They knew he was their creator. Still, they rebelled. They forever cut themselves off from his presence. Now they must pray, and obey even his earliest teachings.
Cosmological Views
The common belief of the people of Eternity is that Deos made everything. He molded all peoples into existence. The dragons were first. He made them to be his closest servants, and friends. Once he saw how well his servants served him, Deos made draconin from dragon. The draconin served as the servants of the dragons, and the first worshipers of Deos. Brimbarians came next. They were made with a desire to explore Deos' world. From the start, they wanted to learn about the world around them. How it works, and how to use their surroundings. Munren were Deos' next grand creation. Their purpose was to hold great creativity, and project it unto the world around them. They'd build cities, create music, make art, and find the beauty in all things. Dwarves were made with a love of fire, and all the things one could do with it. It warms them in their mountain homes. It stokes their forges to make great, and powerful things of all shapes, and sizes. Halflings were made with hearts of gold. To have a halfling friend was to have loyalty in a three-foot package. They will never leave your side. They will come when needed, and even when not needed. Deos walked among his creations and was satisfied with what he had made. It was perfection. Sin had not yet stained the hearts of his creations.
No one knows why, but Deos once perfect creation fell to things like temptation, and sin. These imperfections could not exist in Deos' presence, and was cut off from all contact. Orcs were born of this sin. They are the embodiments of evil. They started the age of war that destroyed the first world. The only ones who didn't fall into sin were the dragons. But a sinful world negates a sinless being. They could not directly contact Deos, and all they could do was follow Deos' plan. They made it possible to leave a crumbling world. Though Deos' creation was now flawed, he still loved it with all his infinite being.
Tenets of Faith
One must strive to be perfect. Though this is an impossible task, they must try. Deos' presence demands perfection. If you fall from perfection you must do what is possible to make it right. Any who give their all to do so, are granted access to his realm. A realm where concepts like sin, anger, and lust don't exist. A place of rolling hills, and endless planes of tall grass. A place where you can run for eternity, and fatigue will never grip your now perfect form.
Ethics
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. This is the rule that guides the lives of all who are faithful. If you would desire respect, and kindness from others, you must give the same.
Worship
Though it is impossible to directly contact Deos in his realm, one can send a message to him through prayer. One can pray with others, or in private, to seek wisdom, or beg forgiveness. Prayer drives the lives of any prophet, or templar. They must maintain their faith in this way wo keep the power given to them.
Priesthood
The leaders of the common religion are the prophets and templars. Both wield divine power, capable of doing tremendous feats of magic. The prophets guide the people on a spiritual level. They are instructed to instruct people what must be done to gain access to Deos' realm. Templars are instructed to defend the truth with their lives, and souls. Both will go to war only when necessary to defend their people, lest they lose the power granted by their divine entity.
Granted Divine Powers
Your divine powers depend on the divine form you gain said power from. Though Deos' power is supreme, one must be perfect to hold it. Those who swear the needed oaths will gain the powes of the divine force they swear to.
