NaNoWriMo 2022: Will it be Hope or Despair?
NaNoWriMo is almost here once again, and this time my very simple goal is to make it farther than the first weekend before quitting as I have the first two years. For the first time, I'm going rebel for the main event--i've done it for camp, but never for November. The other difference this year is I've actually got someone who wants to read what I'm working on when it's done, so that's added incentive to finish it.
If you're at all familiar with the Danganronpa franchise, you were probably triggered by the title of this page. Within Leland is a superhero-esque media franchise called Eproilian Tales. Because of my obsession with a certain pairing in DR2 (whom I lovingly refer to as Princess and Hamster Man), I created a villainous duo based on them within said franchise. My primary projects for NaNoWriMo revolve around them: the full version of Follow the Squirrels -- Abridged (abridged version written for the one-shot challenge) and a novella about them, possibly involving a class reunion.
Other projects that will count toward my NaNo goals will be Mapvember and a short story involving Jerome Canmore falling for a close friend after helping her out of an abusive situation.
Essentially my goal is to get 50,000 words of writing come hell or high water, whether in prose form or article form.

11.12 A rough start to the month has become a rough middle of the month. I keep intending to write and then getting distracted by a different project or just playing solitaire on neopets. Because that's what adults do, right? But I did catch a brief wind of inspiration and knocked out a Mapvember prompt along with creating the stub for a second. I think giving myself permission to not hit 50K is why I'm not finding the motivation, but I also probably would have just given up at this point if I hadn't. I will complete that adventure, come hell or high water!
11.27 I have officially earned the Mapvember 2022 badge! Have I completed any more of my primary project? Nope, none. None at all. But I have three days left and a week off, so big things could still happen.
12.1 Well, November is over and I didn't get even close to my goal. But I shan't dwell on the past--on to Worldember!
Preptober
I'm hoping to use some of the Spooktober promts to write some short drabbles and character explorations as I figure out what exactly I plan to write, but I also have a few more concrete prep goals. 11.4 It has been a rough start to the month. I had planned to get the first day's word count in before going to bed on Halloween night but falling asleep ruined that plan. I haven't had the motivation to do any writing since that first night, which is frustrating and definitely going to be my stumbling block this month. Hopefully this weekend I can make up some ground.11.12 A rough start to the month has become a rough middle of the month.
