The Avowed

Roughly three hundred Avowed live in Candlekeep. The majority of them are low-level assistants, newcomers to the order, or scribes who handle the everyday work in the keep.

In addition to the aforementioned rank and file, there are more distinguished members of the the Avowed, including the Keeper of Tomes and a retinue of Readers. This latter group includes the First Reader, eight Great Readers, numerous Master Readers, the Chanter, and the Gatewarden.
