Apalata ak Mirav

Apalata is an immense giant who has pledged himself to the Mirav Expeditionary Front. He has wandered the world since long before the world died, and longs for a time all can freely wander it anew. He sees the Expeditionary Front as the only organization aligned with that goal, and left his prior caravan to live among and aid the smaller races. He joined the company in 95 AD and quickly rose to become Doctor Gainsil Mirav's second-in-command, both due to his immense strength as a giant and his strong beliefs in the organization.   Before the world died, Apalata had a dwarven friend named Nerona. She was a capable smith who liked the outdoors and would sometimes travel with Apalata's old caravan. She died many decades ago, but Apalata still treasures his long talks with her about nature and the gods, and keeps a few momentos of her, including her dessicated head.

Physical Description

Apparel & Accessories

As a giant, it is not easy to procure traditional armor. However, Apalata's skin is naturally tough and temperature resistant, so he mainly wears scattered leathers and cloths around his waist, and a few accessories on his shoulder and forelimbs. He has some improvised armor, wearing shields, massive horns, and strips of metal for bracers and greaves. He also carries dessicated trophies of undead he has slain, along with the wizened head of his old friend Nerona. He works closer with smaller races and has a ladder up to his shoulders, where a small platform serves as a lookout point for Mirav scouts.

Specialized Equipment

Apalata has two primary weapons. First is a 20 foot hammer of stone and wood, reinforced with metal for added strength and power. It is far too heavy for most people to even consider picking up, and few creatures can survive even a single blow head-on. The back of the hammer has an old anvil attached to it, which belonged to Apalata's late dwarven friend Nerona.   The second weapon is a 25 foot javelin that Apalata can throw hundreds of feet. It was carved from the entire trunk of a spruce tree grown high up in the mountains, and is decorated with the skulls of a pair of devils that once crossed him.
