Plot points/Scenes

Early Morning: Tuesday

The ritual lasted through monday Roll to see if anyone inherits a small homestead   Morning came with a vengeance. You are woken unreasonably early, before the sun ever reaches above the horizon. "Class starts in five minutes!" A shrill little voice echoes through your dreams waking you all from your drunken stupors. "You shouldn't still be in bed, you'll be late! You really don't want to be late." It takes you a few moments to wade through the blinding pain in your skulls and the sludge the alcohol seems to have made of your bodies before you are able to realize the voice isn't just in your head. Well...it is, but it's not just you hallucinating. There is a small fairy dragon flitting from window to window, pushing their tiny little face against the glass to see if there is any movement within, before darting towards the next window. "You should be dressed and ready, by now! Must Rum do everything?"   * If anyone cares to do a perception check, and succeeds, Rum is a small red fairy dragon. He is usually the one in charge of waking up the students, and has been trying for a good while now. He's also had to try to wake up the professors (which isn't part of his usual duties and he's not happy about it.)*

First Class: Magic

Teacher: Arlen Elakalyn

No one has time to eat breakfast. You all have to rush to get dressed and get to class, which is across the castle from where you are. You all arrive pretty much at the same time, filing into the classroom in an ungainly mess of limbs and hangovers. Sirailya and Aelyn are glaring daggers at Lute and Bones, who they have obviously placed the blame of their current predicament on. Sirailya can be heard hissing insults at the pair under her breath, occasionally turning to Iulek urging her into joining.   Nym sits off to one side of the room, detached from the rest of the students. Vesryn has his arm around Ara's shoulder, the two in their own little world as they flirt back and forth. Taegen looks a bit green around the gills, slumped on his table with his eyes squeezed tightly shut (out of everyone Taegen was the worst effected)   *Allow the students to do what they want for a long time. If the players don't realize there is no teacher on their own have them start doing perception checks.   The headmistress eventually shows up to handle the class. Explaining that a few of the teachers are 'indisposed'. (another perception check would reveal that she doesn't seem at all effected by the spells, but don't do that check unless someone specifically says something)   At the front of the class the loot you collected on your last adventure have been gathered on a couple tables, organized neatly by type.   *She explains the point system and says that you will only be able to use items that have been identified.
  1. each person takes an item to identify (success' grant credits)
  2. Spell Research : Write a small essay about each topic (intelligence, research, arcana)
  3. (each score = credits granted)
  • Spell scrolls
  • Mispells
  • Itentify

Second Class: Dragon Handling

Teacher: Nuvian Qinleth

Sellia Daethyra Dragon Care Teacher Assignments:
  • hunting (animal handling, survival)
  • Creating a Habitat for your dragon (survival, animal handling, nature)
  • Food supply and treats (survival, animal handling, cooking)
  • Research paper (on your type of dragon) (Intelligence, reasearch, animal handling, nature)
After your magic class has finished the Sellia escorts you to your next class. Sellia Daethyra leads you out to the Teirse Ritual Ground (read a brief description). just off the ritual grounds is a small courtyard filled with grass, trees, and a cobbled path leading to a cluster of marble benches. Sellia Daethyra takes a seat at one of these benches and as you settle yourselves around her a little nervously, (it feels strangely intimate to not be separated by desks and having her silver pupil-less eyes staring down at you) She looks delicate sitting there and you are struck with how small she appears She has always seemed larger than life, a towering figure strong and commanding. Sitting here, she looks like the a strong gust of wind might sweep her away. She is tall, taller than most elves and her bicolored hair, the wisps that aren't pulled up in cornrows and coiled atop her head, wave gently in the cool breeze. After a few moments of sitting there a handful of small dragons flutter down. The majority of them are fairy dragons, but two of them are pygmydragons, like yours. Seemingly out of nowhere she produces a bag filled with what must be treats, the dragons perk up instantly intrigued.   "It appears that Skyguard Nuvian is running late." She says coolly, as she holds a bit of dried meat out to on of the little creatures. The small green dragon chirrs happily, lunging up onto it's back paws and grasping the woman's fingers as it carefully extracted the treat from her grasp.   It's wings fluttered briefly before it launched into the air and carried it's prize away to a nearby tree to enjoy.   "Can anyone tell me about the different types of dragons?" She asks, glancing around the group with a bland expression on her sharp face. "Let's start with these here." She added, gesturing at the variety of dragons gathered around her.   -Do a intelligence check, (looking for innate knowlege) DC 10   She goes over the different types of dragons:   Pygmydragon Psudodragon fairy dragon drake guard drake dragon   She asks about type, and what they know about their pygmydragon's type. -intelligence, nature, animal handling checks-   If you are able to answer any of her questions to her satisfaction you are granted a point.   After about an hour of this the sound of flapping wings draws everyone's attention away from Sellia Daethyra's impromptu lesson.  A few minutes later and a large blue dragon drops from the sky onto the Ritual Ground and your Dragon Handling teacher slides off it's back.   the Sellia stands and moves to greet him as he walks towards where all of you are seated.  "I beg your pardon, Sellia.  I was waylaid on the way here, a small town near the boarder requested Skyguard aide and it was on the way."   "We kept ourselves plenty entertained in your absence."  Sellia Daethyra waved away his excuse, "You took care of the problem, I take it?"   "Yes, a small band of human's have been raiding the village.  It was simple enough to track them back to their camp.  They will not be causing problems for anyone anymore."  He informed her.   "Excellent.  You can give me your full report later, for now I do believe you have a class waiting for you."  He crossed one arm in front of his chest and gave a quick bow towards her.    If anyone says anything about the bow ask them to do a history/lore check.   DC 10:It was nowhere near the type of elaborate bows that is expected when addressing royalty.   This type of bow is a military salute one gives a superior, the deeper the bow the higher the rank.   Make rolls for assignments, give out points   After you finish the written portions of the class you are told you will be going into the forest down by the lake for the next portion of the class.  You will be seeking out ingrediants for dragon food and a habitat for your dragon.  You will have the rest of the week to get the habitat ready.     Each player will need to make a description of what their finished habitat looks like at the next Dragon handling class.  The habitat is supposed to be set up in the small alcove next to the player's bed.  They can incorporate the cage into it or not.   (Make a list of items each player has)
