Teirse Ritual Ground

Purpose / Function

A safe location to practice great amounts of magic, and conduct rituals.  It is also used as a landing platform for any dragons and their riders returning to the Citadel.

Design

The Ritual Grounds are located out the front of the castle and situated over the edge of the cliffs overlooking the valley below.  It is a large circular balcony that extends beyond the surface of the ground, made of solid marble.  Intricate pillars and a lattice of connecting supports decorate the underside of the stone floor and keep it secured to the side of the mountain.

Architecture

This courtyard balcony had once been made out of solid marble, but over time the floor has been covered over by a tile mosaic of a dragon in flight silhouetted by the sun.  The tiles are hand crafted out of gemstone and serve the purpose of protecting the marble and stone beneath it from the use of magic, and amplifying any spells or (more specifically) rituals done in this location.
