Arrival at Menkalinan Report

General Summary

With the guidance of their young warforged friend, Axe, the party manages to manuver themselves through the twisting, jagged rocks surrounging the southwestern shores of Niyat, navigating their way toward Bell Bay. Upon their arrival in the mid-afternoon of 22 Octobris, they discover two unlikely companions waiting for them a top a nearby promontory. Here they are introduced to an order of the the Eagle member, Mortimer Morrigan Mordecai Morpheus Mona-Monet Dazzlerend, or Momo, and Max's brother, Paxton Friedrich von Hader Valerius, Heredis Menkalinae. These two newcomers proceed to escort the party southward, and in doing so encounter a gargantuan roc in the middle of the night. A hasty skirmish leaves the roc wounded, barely escaping with its life, and the party starting their day weary of the new dangers in Auriga. Upon reaching the city, they discover the various encampments on the outside of the massive bubble of white static currently surrounding Menkalinan, and traverse the Vitreus river to investigate the military presence on the southern side of the area. Here they find Ptrixie Ptyrannosaurus, an annoying pink-haired gnome journalist from Sadatoni who had apparently used her noble status to assume the position of interim watch commander during the unique situation faced by Menkalinan. Although she claimed she wouldn't follow through with her plan to ignite the barrels of black powder stacked against the bubble of static, the party quickly discovered that Ptrixie, was in fact, a pathologically lying bitch. Ptrixie ignited the barrels as soon as their backs were turned, causing a massive, deafening explosion to rock the surrounding area but leave the barrier seemingly undamaged. Not but a few seconds later, an enormous purple worm burst forth from the sand below and swallowed Ptrixie whole, initiating a wild combat between the party and a pair of young purple worms. Through Momo's quick thinking and mischievious divine inspiration, the first worm was temporarily banished to a demiplane, saving the lives of both Ptrixie and Doyle, whom the worm had also swallowed. At the time, however, Doyle had already perished in the worm's toothy maw, revitalized by his mysterious bond with the darkness within his sword. The party then quickly finished off the second worm, but not before it could break Momo's concentration on its banished kin. However, a giant Ro-gin was ready with a makeshift snare of newly forged chain pulled taught against its thick purple hide to keep it securely in place as Paxton's homunculus servant Stewie finished off the dying worm.
