The party initially convened at The Eagle's Nest after Doyle LaBarre stole Torren Fallthorn's attunement crystal.
The first campaign arc relating to the acquisition of the first crystal key and the exploration of the power behind it.
The party initially convened at The Eagle's Nest after Doyle LaBarre stole Torren Fallthorn's attunement crystal.
The party (with the exception of Doyle) is unwittingly given a sleep poison and carried secretly up to the throne room to meet with King Matthew Craigson himself concerning Osmo's message about the crystal keys.
The party spends the night at Hank and Hilda's Magical Musical Motel by performing in place of the no show band, the Undead Kennedys. Rastos befriends a guard atop the wall named Eve.
The party encounters a goliath named Ro-gin in the mountains while planning a raid on the nearby orc encampment, and Rastos discovers a crystal key which bonds with him and hangs from his neck as an amulet.
A month later, the party's congregation on Torren's birthday led to the sharing of many revelations that resulted in the journey to Cloudborne Keep to help defend the aarakocra.
An army of dark kobolds wrapped up into the shadowy thrall of a mysterious figure atop a wyvern attack the small riverside town of Alshain, burning and destroying most of it entirely. The party, with the help of the Order of the Eagle cleric Garth Tarwall, are able to evacuate most of the population, taking some of them to Cloudborne Keep in search of refuge.
The party valiantly defends the aarakocra of Cloudborne Keep with the Shieldfeather soldiers, orc band, and survivors of Alshain. The crystal key fuses with Rastos, attuning to him as he attunes to it at the Temple of Caelus. DUring the wyvern fight, he unknowingly unleashes its power against the wyvern and its dark rider. The shadowy, mysterious figure atop the wyvern vanishes when the beast is slain.
The party visits Fallthorn Crypt, where Torren Fallthorn acquires Fallthorn's Legacy, a unique dragonglass dagger left for him by his mother, Felucia Fallthorn, that is tied closely to his family lineage.
The party first arrives in Alchiba, the small town in Corvus ravaged by Redsight and ruled mercilessly by the powerful, pragmatic, and unfeeling Olding family. Notably, upon sneaking into their mansion, Ro-gin frees a familiar one-eared worg from their captivity.
The party arrives in Gienah, climbing through the sewer entrance outside of the city walls and encountering the remnants of the House of Wolves at the Eagle's Nest in Gienah.
The party, along with The House of Wolves, pulls off a daring heist of the weapons and wealth of the Brighton Manor during a party celebrating the union of Maxwell Brighton and Helena Lockhart. Rastos, Ro-gin, and DeeDee are labelled as criminals as a result of the chaotic night, but thousands of gold and a small arsenal of weapons are successfully extracted from the manor.
After facing several attacks throughout the night in the gray wastes of southern Corvus, the party (with Kepler) finally reach Algorab, currently under the jurisdiction of Devon LaBarre while Kiernan and Maeve are in Gienah attending the wedding. They arrive to find the city plagued with Redsight, starvation, and unrest.
Upon reaching the southern temple to the Dark God in search of Kira and Simon, the party finds themselves surrounded by death, navigating an ancient dungeon dedicated to a shadowy evil. In the process, Liliana "Barghest" Rivers of The House of Wolves acquires a crystal key, along with the corruption of a curse placed upon its pedestal, and is severed into a duality of herself. The darker version unleashes dark, twisted, and uncontrollable frost powers from the crystal key, forcing Steven to teleport Kira, Natalia, and the party back to Gienah to prepare for her arrival. After a climactic battle and the clever retrieval of the crystal key by Doyle LaBarre, a 1 in 100 teleportation mishap causes the party to be stranded up in the northernmost town in Locris: Merak.
After two months of downtime in Merak, the party finally decides to travel south to Alioth, investigating the possible corruption of Archmage Magnus Amaran. With Doyle and Rastos back in Algorab, the remaining three are accompanied by the northern goliaths Vala Aeolus and Ohlin Snowcarver in their harrowing journey through the frost plains.
The party arrives at a clearing to find Princess Athena and her escorts apparently massacred by very large creatures not too long ago. After being interrogated briefly by Captain Percival Ironwood and his second, Abel Xiloscient, the party reconvenes with their lost friend DeeDee that night (in mammoth form). They would later discover that it was not giants who committed these murders, but actually Gideon in his Oni form.
As the party arrives in Alioth and makes their way into Lapistein Keep to meet with Percival Ironwood of the Order of the Eagle, they discover Percival's body face down in a pool of blood at his desk, with an unknown assassin leaping from the window. The party is then thrust into a world of intrigue, investigation, and suspicion as they struggle to prove their innocence and lack of involvement in the horrible murder.
A traditionally Orionic celebration of one's life in this world passing onto the next, this Gala of Life was held in honor of both Princess Athena and Captain Percival, involving the official announcement of the war meeting with the Giants on 15 Septembris, in which the shaky tension between the two peoples could hopefully be resolved without bloodshed.
The party decides to continue their search for answers into the forbidden section of the massive Okumudov Library in Alioth... illegally. After the discovery of The Impermanence of Memory in the center of the forbidden section, and the attack of the chained Intellect Devourers, their plan goes horribly awry resulting in a climactic night of chaos and battle in which the party BARELY escapes with their lives into the sewers below.
On this day, the assassin Blackfoot of the Red Fang killed DeeDee in the sewers below Alioth, having been sent by Magnus following the library heist. Shortly after the small burial ceremony held for him in the woods surrounding Sveldheim, the goliaths Vala and Ohlin depart northward to answer the call of a higher power asking for aid.
The long-awaited war meeting on the 50th anniversary of the conclusion of The First Giant War resulted in disaster. Magnus had planned glyphs of warding on each of the pillars of the war table in the meeting tent, and once each of the delegates had arrived, he charmed Steven into doing his dirty work for him. Steven stopped time very briefly, allowing each glyph to activate and have time to charge, so the delayed blast fireballs released and burnt many of the delegates to the ground. King Didon and Konge Eidvarr died during this initial explosion, causing a battle to promptly ensue. Abel teleported King Didon to safety in the sewers where Torren joined them, Rastos was captured in an attempt to pursue Magnus, and the rest of the party was forced to flee with Bjorn and the rest of the giants. In the process, Magnus revealed his true form as an adult red dragon, growing and shifting into a gargantuan beast that dominated the Stonesman forces with a wave of his frightful presence.
After Rastos was captured by Gideon and the Stonesmen, Torren escaped with Abel into the sewers of Alioth, and Ro-gin, Max, and Doyle escaped with the giants, the party finally manages to come together once again in the original Temple of Gaia in Terra Dur. Torren and Rastos teleport there, having barely escaped the chaotic battle of Magnus vs. King Matthew and Linus in the Altair throne room. Abel Xiloscient accompanies them in their teleportation, enabled by Ro-gin's temporary access of the abilities of the dreamwalker thanks to his connection to Artie. This begins their brief segment of downtime in Terra Dur, in which they learn from the giants there and prepare for the impending battle with Magnus, The Herald of Crimson Fire.
On this day, the giants launched their joint attack with a small group of rebels in Alioth, and the party teleported into Sveldheim mountain to combat Magnus Amaran in a climactic battle of good and evil. Much of Alioth was destroyed in the process, but the city and its people were now free.
The Festival of Venn Fjell, or "mountain friends" in Giant, marks the day that an official peace was forged between the Giants of Gigan and the dwarves of mainland Ursa. On this day, the people of Alioth celebrate their resilient victory over the evil archmage, Magnus Amaran, and his draconic tyranny.
