Limem

Set on the border to The Wilderness Limem is our biggest military fortress with a wall extending along the border. Due to the settlement being in the far west, the amounts of standing army needed to hold against the beasts and thus the amount of Lucemi needed to supply and maintain it has grown to quite a city.   Limem was constructed in an effort to draw a clear line to The Wilderness and set as the farthest point in the west of Lucem Edi. It started as a chain of small scout settlement. A central one of these has been chosen as logistic center to construct the wall and slowly evolved to the fortress it is.   The early stages of the fortification have been overrun and destroyed several times until it was possible to close the walls solid. Since then Limem stood firm against the occasional waves of beasts clashing against it, holding off the darkness with the sun rising in it's back. That was until a particular fierce and massive attack started, which didn't seem to cool off this time. While the earlier attacks seemed like Ami looking for new hunting grounds driven by hunger, this felt, and was, the beginning of a war. For days the masses flooded against the walls. The beasts found ways over them further away from the fortress before reinforcements from Lucem arrived. So Ormir Zeremi called for withdrawal before they're enclosed by them. Covering villages to let them evacuate and still trying to hold the line to push back the beasts they continued their fight. They stood no chance and slowly our forces were pushed back further and further until we all were closed up in Lucem. Divasa was gifted to us and we were able to fight back. With concentrated forces we mowed through the beasts being spread in our lands until we arrived at Limem. It was in a desasterous shape, the long wall along the border having large parts destroyed. Every Lucemi cooperated to repair or defend it and finally the siege stopped. Uncountable brave masks fell in this effort.
