Hamal Armanuli
A traveler from the south, Hamal has wandered to Nor', though he may have been born there. He survives by taking on odd jobs. Occasionally mercenaries jobs pay him enough to be comfortable for a while, though sometimes he undertakes more dubious lines of work. Typically, he does whatever easy work he can get in any settlement, and then moves on to the next. He's good enough at hunting and surviving to feel at least as comfortable in the woods as in town.
Generally, he leads a solitary lifestyle. Not associated with any clan or company at the moment, but he isn't opposed to being part of a team, though viewing those partnerships as temporary. "This is a good group to be a part of, and I'll make the most of it, but sooner or later the winds will change direction, and I will move on with them." Not a thrill-seeker, he prefers to move on when his work or circumstances begin to include too much risk (and not enough pay). However, he is looking for news about any old associates in this part of the world.
As someone who lives on the edge, Hamal is superstitious, and has picked up beliefs from various peoples among whom he's lived,
In early spring, he joined up with a group of mercenaries in Zmiihorod, who followed Bishop Tikhon to Aleksandrovka to hunt down some troublesome heathens in the woods. As he learned more about their endeavors, Hamal decided their mission was too risky, and decided to stay behind in the village, helping the locals till their fields and plant crops. There, he met Prokhor, and through him, the other protagonists of our tale...
