15.5 Session, Caspian Alone

General Summary

This was a private session for just Caspian. He sets off early in the morning after the dance to the city of Mythme where his father was from. Alle meets him in the stable and gives him a good luck charm she made for him. She kisses him on both cheeks and he is slowly coming to the realization that she likes him.

 

On the way to the Terrabor, Caspian is attacked by people with nets and crossbows and gets hit twice while fleeing but he survives and makes it to Mythme by the evening. He manages to get directions to his grandfather's carpentry shop, but can't find the house so he finds a stable for his horse and sleeps on the doorstep of the shop.

 

Caspian wakes up to an ornery old man asking what's he's doing which is how he meets his grandfather, Aubin. Caspian explains who he is and that his father is dead. His grandfather takes him home where he meets his grandmother, Rania, whom Caspian also gives the news about his father's death. Grandma fusses over Caspian despite being emotional about the news of her son's death. She shows him all the family miniature portraits, tells him family stories and asks him all about his life.

 

Rania takes Caspian to see his aunt Trista who is a Shamaness, he meets her and his other relatives. Trista's husband, Boone, offers to do a Oosranhil for Caspian even though it's 13 years late. They have a simple ceremony for him the second night he's there with just family. He gets a mantel and a cool dagger his grandmother saved for him. He's marked with the virtue of "loyalty."

 

Having his fill of his family, Caspian heads out the next morning while his tearful grandmother beggs him to write. He avoids the section of the path he was attacked on his way back to Lensee where the rest of party. He mentioned Skyla at the gate, and the guards let him in.
