16th Session
General Summary
The sessions begins in the morning following the dance. Alle is gone but Ellie and Tasha quickly find her and she is very interested in talking about the previous night. She finds Skyla and hauls her off. They see Crimson on the way to Skyla's room and invite her too.
Highlights from the talk. Skyla does seem to like Tyrell, but she's also scared it may be a joke. She hasn't had very positive experiences with romance before and Tyrell does like to pull pranks. He wasn't cruel to her beyond some comments about her mother when they were kids. She also wonders if her father put him up to it. Skyla will spend the afternoon with her extended family and wine. Her grandparents didn't approve of her Mother the banni and by extension her. She is planning on meeting Tyrell after dinner.
Alle ready likes Caspian: personality, looks, values, abilities, she likes them. She made him an warding amulet and saw him off this morning. She's worried about the owlbears. She did enjoy the night and thanks Tasha and Ellie for tricking Caspian into giving her the flower.
Crimson had a good time. There weren't any creeps like Marquis Kedar. She was fostering good relations between Ruben and elves. She says creeps aren't common as most of them are turned off by her son. Crimson does ask Skyla about Eldred. Skyla says Eldred was always kind to her, paid her special attention and gave her thoughtful gifts including a necklace she still wears. Crimson says she gets a bad feeling from him, but maybe it's just because she's not used to elves. Ellie pulls Crimson aside to talk about Eldred. Crimson claims she gets feels sometimes about people good and bad and they're usually right. Ellie tells Crimson that she has suspicious about him too and asks Crimson to keep an eye on him.
Ellie and Tasha decide to check out the home of couple who fell victims to the owlbears. They invite Alle and Daniel to come with them. They find Tyrell at the gate and ask him to take them to the house. He agrees to leave his post on the condition that they do him an unspecified favor, Ellie agrees. Alle talks to him the walk over.
In checking out the scene, it looks like owlbears, but something is off. Further looks reveal inconsistencies and Tasha concludes that's it's been staged. Tyrell is addled by the development and the conspiracy it suggests. The scouts signed off on the owlbear attack. The couple, Benjamin and Lauren, weren't special. Nothing in the house suggests that the couple was anything other than an ordinary newly wed couple.
They go back to the city and Tyrell goes to reread the report rather than returning to his post. He comes back saying it signed off by Colonel Corbin with scouts Louis, Stanley, Thane and Brandan. Tyrell doesn't really know them personally, but says that Colonel Corbin is friends with his dad and he's seen Thane frequently in the Whimsical Spider Tavern.
TLDR: The girls had girl talk. Skyla had a romantic evening with Tyrell, she likes him, but is unsure if he's sincere. Alle's worried about Caspian on his trip. Crimson has a bad feeling about Eldred, but Skyla has no misgivings about him. Ellie, Tasha, and Theo take Daniel and Alle to check out the house where the owlbear attack happened. They get Tyrell to take them. The attack was staged and there's no clear motivation for it. Tyrell is freaking out a bit, but he got the party more information from the report once they got back to the city.
