20th Session
General Summary
The party dealt with fallout from uncovering the slaving ring. The chief is busy working on rooting out the corruption and traitors out of his government and his sent patrols out to get care of the other groups of slavers. With no one intercepting or changing his orders, it gets done. He gives Crimson, as your employer, 600 gp to disperse to the party and he gives the party one of the bandits' horses. She gives each party member and Daniel 100gp.
Shalom has his 8th birthday and receives gifts from the expedition including a blunt child-sized sword from Daniel, a portrait painted by Alle, an fancy elven harp from Skyla and her family, a performance of his favorite story set to music by Tasha and silk gloves and shirt from his mother.
Skyla has her saserin where she gets a really nice longbow and belt and is marked with "tenacity." At the dance, Tyrell, who is still hurting from his capture, gave Skyla a token marker of a gold butterfly hair comb with amethysts which she returns with a gold ribbon. A servant explains the significance of it, that a token marking on a saserin generally foreshadow upcoming betrothal and more permanent token signify more exclusivity and commitment. Ellie and Tasha convince Caspian to ask Alle to dance. Alle provides her own token marking.
The expedition sets off a week after they take done the slaving ring. Before they go, the king gives the party and Daniel emblems declaring them aboramis. Skyla gets some carrier pigeons so she can write home. Tyrell is staying to continue healing and fulfill his commission with the guard before joining Skyla.
The expedition heads to Remlow, where Daniel is from. It takes 6 days for the expedition to near his childhood home. When they do, Daniel realizes something is wrong since it's the middle of spring and the fields have not been plowed. He asks the ethnic Rubenians and Alle to stay and takes the rest to check out the house.
The party finds bandits in the house which they dispatch. After clearing the bodies away, Daniel goes into the house for awhile. When he comes out, he says the expedition should just move on. They return to the rest of the crew where Daniel reports the house is empty and they should continue their journey. The crew takes a short rest and thinks about the next course of action.TLDR: Party spends their final week with the elves. There's another dance after a coming of age ceremony for Skyla. They leave, Tyrell will come later. When they make it to Remlow, they discover Daniel's childhood home is occupied by bandits with no sign of his family.
