32nd Session
General Summary
The session begins where the last one left off. Ellie goes to get Mattis as Ronen asked. Mattis comes, listens to what's going and seems happy about how the Colonel is acting. When they return, the Colonel is auguring with Ronen. It seems he's realized the princess is vulnerable outside and now wants to go bring her inside. According to Caspian, she has calmed down a lot, but is not responding to attempts to communicate with her. He and Enzo both attempt to carry her and neither one can quite pick her up. The Colonel, under supervision, goes down, picks her up, takes her inside and puts her in bed.
The Old Ones watch the third changeling, Mattis has a chat with the colonel which Tasha eavesdrops on through the secret tunnels. The Colonel took a mixture of things to "help him sleep" as he had been having trouble sleeping and wanted to be well rested for the meeting the next day. Mattis maintains that he is impaired and unable to properly perform his duties. Goldblade claims this is the only time and that he won't do it again. This was just unfortunate timing as he didn't foresee her running off or the other changeling sticking around. He perseverates on her running off until Mattis tells him to sleep it off and that he'll talk to her in the morning.
The next morning Ellie speaks to Mattis about the Colonel fitness as a leader. Mattis is watching him, but says he's good for now. Ellie also gets his advice on talking to the princess and totally disregards his counsel to approach her with compassion and focus on the care everyone has for her and lays into her. Eirianwen takes Ellie calling her self-center for attempting to run away to avoid being a burden fairly well. She expresses great surprise and concern when Ellie quotes that the Colonel threatened to go into permanent retirement should she die. Galla admits that Eirianwen presence may be painful at times, it is preferable to not having her there.
The interragate the 3rd changeling, 9 or "Alyssa" who has much be better control over her powers and is a lot more talkive. She insistence that they should be "friends" and that the Old Ones are being selfish with how they horde the blessings of Agelessness. She gives more details. There's 23 active changelings of which she knows. There are about 25 people in the stronghold at anytime and there's currently 9 children there. The Colonel and most of the Old Ones need to go meet with the The Order of the Iron Path, leaving the party with the changeling. The Colonel did not forbid them from killing the prinsoner. Theo ends up doing so as she provides able to slip from her binds. She had a communication orb on her which Ellie takes to Galla who shows her how to use it.
TLDR: 3rd Changeling is a jerk, but in better control of her powers. Ellie lectures the princess about running away to avoid burdening those who love her. The Old Ones go to meet the Iron Path. Theo kills the 3rd changeling.
