52th Session
General Summary
The session begins with the party coming into the Heartford Forest. They meet up with the Rubenian forces at their encampment. The regular captain has been replaced by Kedar of Prugon since he has actually been successful in capturing and executing a Cyanhemian. Other newcomers include Grant of Vesting, the Lizardfolk Nadir and Akeem and Alle's younger brother Karlo
Remez the Scholar insists that they need the Sword of Hagan or a bit of the Heartstone in order to perform the ceremony to summon and bind a Nuxrid so the party, minus Caspian and with the addition of another ranger, Thalassa Avina, go to the Heartstone Abbey.
On the way, Ellie sends a psychic message to the Shadow asking to meet with him. He sends a single word response "yefi". When they reach the abbey, they discover that the Sword of Hagan has disappeared. The Children of the Divine Mother suspect a tribe of Watermen, but no one has any proof. Tasha gets a letter from Willibald Fairburrow and burns it without reading it. Ellie sends another message to the Shadow really asking to meet. The Shadow does not respond, but does show up at the suggested meeting place out in the forest.
The Shadow is very ambiguous in his answers with responses such as "it may call me what it will" when asked for his name and the only reason he gives for, admittedly, killing someone 3 months before was that the forest is his dominion. He comments on how brave Ellie or, as he now calls her, yefi has become and suggests that she maybe ate the 3 three of her companions which are no longer with her, the "elf child," "hybrid recluse" or " dwarf champion." He's confused when Ellie questions about the dwarf as she has not had a dwarf companion. He seemly searches through the party members' minds and then walks away concerned. When questioned, he remarks that there are things at play which would rip a yefi and sweep away the threads.
TLDR: The sword of Hagan is gone. The Shadow is creepy, and he seems to believe that the party had a dwarf with them at some point.
