General Summary
Ellie tries to commune with Hagan the Brave with the impression that he took his own sword. She even reads the translated gnomish note and realizes that one of the prophecies may be referring to sword being taken by a "parentless son of the mountain," may be the dwarf the Shadow mentioned. Ellie now believes that an invisible dwarf is running around.
Nothing happens during the day (18/6/8499), but he does appear to her at night in a dream. In summary, he doesn't know where his sword is and he seems to be miffed that Ellie took the note when she was there before. On the topic of the Shadow of Heartford Forest, they should leave him alone as even for yesbrid such Hagan, "the ways of seers, dulvalon and Keepers can be peculiar and mysterious" and it would be for the best if they convinced everyone to leave the wild man alone. Hagan doesn't know of any dwarf. He does admit that the "child of mind and dream" may refer to Ellie, though Ellie is disappointed that Hagan does not tell her what to do.
The next morning, Crimson comes with Shalom, Remez, Yavin, Skyla, Daniel and Grant. They're there for research, cultural experiences and Crimson finds it easier to not be alone with Kedar when he's a day's journey away. Daniel translates the word "yefi" as a type of ragdoll and he really doesn't like the Shadow.
Tasha gets another letter, this time from Robinia, Willibald Fairburrow's daughter which indicates that something is wrong. The party takes 3 days and goes back to Tottenham. They stop in the tavern and meet Gideon, a deaf paladin. Something is fishy.
