The Great Ones note a strange disturbance in the magical weave surrounding the Zhor. This results in multiple appearances and disappearances of wild magic fields throughout the Shianti Empire. After multiple Great Ones die in attempts to resolve the issue, they call upon Anson Dalael to resolve the issue.


Anson is able to resolve the issues and is promoted to the rank of one of the Great Ones. But, after a short time, Anson departs to Durenor and establishes himself there as an unofficial liaison between the Shianti Empire and Durenor.

The Great Ones note a strange disturbance in the magical weave surrounding the Zhor. This results in multiple appearances and disappearances of wild magic fields throughout the Shianti Empire.

After multiple Great Ones die in attempts to resolve the issue, and a robust internal debate, a single Great One proposed that they call upon the renegade Anson Dalael to resolve the issue. Many Great Ones call for Anson's immediate death, but they resolve that if he fails to address the issues then it will be the death of him regardless.

Anson is summoned to Zhor, and the Great Ones command him to resolve the issue of spontaneous wild magic fields. Over the course of a few weeks, he is able to investigate and resolve the issues. With his success, the Great Ones take up the debate concerning how to address Anson's status.

Ultimately, they resolve that he will be subjected to the final tests for ascension to the ranks of the Great Ones. Unexpectedly, he succeeds and is promoted to the rank of one of the Great One. After attaining this rank, he acts as a full member of the Black Robes and visits his family. But, after a short time, Anson departs to Durenor and establishes himself there as an unofficial liaison between the Shianti Empire and Durenor.
