Velocus
The oldest known civilization in Magvel, a place older than The Pantheon of Magvel itself. Little information is left about this civilization, only that they fought fiercely and bravely alongside the gods to protect Magvel. Though not confirmed, it is assumed that the gods were from this ancient place.
Culture
Velocans believed in furthering themselves through magical power, creating many mysterious wonders now lost to time.
History
Velocus was a place of magic, it's people dedicated their lives to magic of all sorts and through their arcane prowess they created a utopia, unfortunately at some indeterminable point, the nation was beset by powerful extraplanar creatures, who seemed set on the destruction or subjugation of Magvel. Despite their eventual defeat, the legacy of Velocus lives on in the ruins of their once-great cities, which are scattered throughout Magvel. Scholars and adventurers alike seek to uncover the secrets of this ancient civilization, and many believe that there is much to be learned from the Velocans' mastery of magic and their dedication to the pursuit of knowledge.
In the centuries since Velocus fell, many have tried to rebuild the civilization in their own image, but all attempts have failed. The magic of Velocus was unique to their people, and their methods of harnessing it have been lost to time.
Despite the mysteries that still surround Velocus, many in Magvel honor the memory of this ancient civilization and the role they played in protecting the world from the extraplanar threats that once threatened to destroy it. Their ruins stand as a testament to the power of magic and the ingenuity of the Velocans, and serve as a reminder of the dangers of delving too deep into the arcane arts.
Disbandment
