The Fractured Pack face the monster that threatens the lands north of Jijiado to both great accomplishment and minor dissappointment.

The next day, the first half of the Fractured Pack's travel brought them into the terrain of the fell beast to Jijiado. The number of cracked and partially scorched trees increased as the party approached their quarry. Eventually, they found a bundle of trees close together all bent and warped under a great weight. A nest within the tops of the trees. Buck went off into shrubs to hide while Broxon went full ahead, announcing his presences. A scaled and spiked eel-like head of huge size pricked up from the treetop nest, speaking out in the draconic tongue. Before Buck could decide whether to utilize magic to communicate with it, Broxon's warhorn announced intentions. As a slithering, many-legged blue behemoth lowered down the trees, a swarm of double winged, batlike mosquite monsters lifted from the trees. Each were the size of a a small cat. While most went after Broxon, one veered for Hali.
As Broxon attacked the beast, it bit and snarled, lurching and twisting at him combining claws with constriction. The mosquito-like stirges latched onto Broxon's armor and punctured with their proboscises. The stirge that flew at Hali was held back by a wall of wind. Buck and Hali volleyed out with arrows and blasts at the beast as Broxon fought on. Three major blows horribly damaging the creature before it swallowed Broxon up. While the stomach acid hurt Broxon, it also washed away the stirges clinging to him. A charge of the beast at Hali was deflected by more gusts and twisting of reality. Broxon knocked a leg out of socket from the inside. Stirges were shot from the air. In the end, the great threat to lizardfolk society was not much to the Fractured Pack as the outer friends wore it down and Broxon burst from it's weakened side.
With the beast slain, Hali's voiced suspicion that this was not the Tertalak. Buck confirmed that the beast was known as a Behir. A great hunter of his people had faced one before. Learning of that, not only did Broxon take a fang as a trophy for himself but took a second to present to Buck as proof that he too was one of the greatest hunters of his tribe. Buck then began the most exquisite harvest of his life, gathering both the hide of the creature and the vocal cords responsible for it's ability to exhale lightning.
