Midgard,
Jötunheim, and
Niflheim as their domain. Frost Jötnar are perfectly acclimated to live in these unforgiving environments. Frost Jötnar can easily be identified by their dusky grayish-blue skin, long hair and beards, forehead horns, their towering stature, and force of personality.
Frost of Jötnar Society
Frost Jötunn society is not known for their spectacular feats of architecture or craftsmanship. Instead, they are a proud warrior race notorious for their pillaging raids. In fact, the majority of Frost Jötunn civilization is built around the concept of strength and skill in battle. One's social standing is often determined by feats in battle and are often flaunted through battle scars and trophies. Typically, Frost Jötunn settlements are led by powerful warlords who are ornately decorated with dozens of war trophies. In this respect, they are very similar to the
Astari.
Frozen Pillagers
There is very little that Frost Jötnar create or grow by themselves. Instead, their society mostly thrives off of raiding and plundering goods from others. Nearly every aspect of Frost Jötunn society has been plundered, especially their colossal weapons and armor, which are often crafted from the bones, hides, or loot of their previous victims. Frost Jötnar possess a special hatred for dragons and will not balk at the opportunity to prove their worth by slaying one of these creatures.
Frost Jötunn Tactics
Frost Jötnar are known for their particular love for battle. Typically, Frost Jötnar travel in small raiding parties of up to 7 (2d6) members to raid nearby settlements. However, against more challenging foes, frost giants have been known to sport numbers of about 22 (4d10) or even more. Typically, such large engagements are often seen through the rare alliance of Frost Jotunn clans to defeat a mightier foe, such as dragons.
Bold Fighters
In combat, the Frost Jötunn typically seek out the strongest opponent to defeat, mainly to claim the glory of defeating such an enemy. If possible, most frost giants prefer to engage in melee combat, though they are skilled archers and casters of ice magic. Frost Jötnar are often able to minimize any long distance threats due to their surprising agility, especially when in the heat of battle. Once in combat, a Frost Jötunn is a nearly unstoppable force as the long they fight, the more dangerous they become as they will enter into a berserk state if bloodied.
Battlefield Competition
The most dangerous aspect of Frost Jötnar is their competitive approach to combat. When in a raiding party, Frost Jötnar will often have friendly competition between members over how many kills each one can claim. Because of this, Frost Jötnar tend to be extremely aggressive, even if victory has already been claimed.
