Knut Aruvandillson
Knut Aruvandillson, known as Knut the Brotherless, Knut the Kingslayer, is the King of Gøtland and has ruled for 7 years, since killing his brother, King Horvendill.
History
Knut is first mentioned by Inga on May 27th when the Party is preparing to leave Buskagar to begin their journey. In a one-on-one conversation between herself and Asmund, Inga says that the king who rules on the eastern side of the Keel is a kin-slayer and that her own brother, King Ingvar Ivarson, has sworn to kill him if they ever meet. She tasks Asmund with learning as much as he can about Knut during his time in his kingdom, stating that Ingvar will surely reward anyone who brings him information that will help lead to the downfall of this kin-slayer king, to which Asmund agrees. During their trek up the Trollstigen, Asmund asks Bairrfhionn what he knows about King Knut, and at this name, the elf spits before saying that Genma had no respect for him, as he had cheated her out of earnings on a contract. He says that while he has never met Knut, he denounces him as a kin-slayer, and admits confusion at how even the Astari accept such a king.Reign
