The Dark Wyrm

The Protector of Skovasil

The Great Wyrm of Skovasil

Divine Domains

Like all the great Wyrms, the Dark Wyrms influence is greatly reduced since its disappearance in the Age of Conflict. It is associated with Etheric, Lunar, Umbral, and Vortex dragons, and is thought to be representative of the dragons greed, patience, and endless capacity for scheming. It grants its clerics access to the Darkness and Scalykind domains, and the Dragon and Night subdomains.

Artifacts

Like all dragon-kind, the Eldest Wyrm's bones are said to hold great power. While its resting place is unknown, many speculate that the Dark Wyrm died somewhere in the southeast, as several powerful draconic beings prowl the area. Many speculate that his final resting place may be in the Valley of the Forgotten. Others postulate that the Urti-Umb mountain range and the Sea of Shadow are the remains and old blood of the dragon.

Holy Books & Codes

Like all Great Wyrms, the Dark left no holy books or writings of any kind, leaving its draconic offspring to interpret its wishes purly through ancestral instincts.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Like all of the Great Wyrms, the Dark symbol is a curled up dragon, although its sigil is usually depicted as as completely shaded, representing its darkened scales.

Tenets of Faith

As a missing and presumed dead deity, there are few enforced tenants of its faith. Its major goal was the protection of the Shadow Realm, so many of its followers attempt to ensure that none of the Necromantic Barons that have risen in his absence gain to much control over the realm.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The Dark Wyrms main goal was the protection of Skovasil, the Shadow Realm, although many old tales speak of its greed and ambitions leading it to meddle in the affairs of many other powerful beings.

Personal history

The Dark Wyrm was one of the younger of the emerging Wyrms, emerging with the Pale Wyrm, before the Celestial and Infernal Wyrms.   Legends state that in the early days of the Alphas wandering, it meandered into the Dark Wyrms resting area, enraging it. The two godly beasts clashed, with each retreating four times to tend its wounds. During the final bout, the mix of blood, fur, and divine magic coalcesed into a single, new being, Neko, the first feline. Startled by the battle, Neko fled, and the Alpha, curuious, chased after it. The Dark Wyrm claimed this as a victory, and returned to its slumber. This legend has led to many of its draconic and wyerm brood stating that all Neko own their existence to them, and should be subservient to them, of which most Neko violently disagree.   It is believed that many of the old barons learned how to control and harness their power from the Dark Wyrm. Some speculate that the old barons were instrumental in his downfall, while others believe that the Wyrm was slain in an unprecedented alliance of the new barons, right after they took power.
