Cor Mundi
Purpose / Function
Before the banishing of Zariel, this core provided a safe haven and power point for the world. It was said that if any evil ,intending to do harm, tried to step foot onto this sacred place they would die almost immediately. They would be filled with the energies of the world to the point of internal destruction ultimately being taken over completely and dying.
After the Banishing however the Core fell out of all common knowledge and is now only known by the most powerful Archdruids, as it is the gathering place for their council every 500 years.

History
In the beginning when the world was first created it is said that the Core was the first life form to ever grow. From its branches it breathed life into the world around it, affecting the surrounding island with the energies needed for all life.
Many of the druid tribes knew about its location in the early years before the banishing, often going to the Core to deepen their connection with nature. The druids began building additions onto the tree before the banishing, especially when the fight against the devils and demons began to have averse effects upon nature.
Rumor says that to defeat Zariel in the last stand many druids went to the Core and were imbued with the energies of life in order to fully defeat the evils that were destroying life. It is unknown what happened during the Banishing and much information was lost or hidden away.
In the following years the Core lay unknown except to the Archdruids of the differing tribes of druids which meet every 500 years to discuss the issues of the world and any concern pressing the tribes. Over the 2000 years the druids hand crafted the platforms and ramps upon the tree making a viable place for them to meet.
