Viridian, Goddess of Peace
Viridian is a goddess that has grown through her own trials. Once the goddess of Healing, Viridian was a devout pacifist. This pacifist tendency allowed her to be defeated by Omadon during the War of Twilight Last and trapped within his mind.
Once she was released Viridian claimed the Soulwell of Law, and her ethos has changed to peace through strength.
Viridian is the power of civilization to hold back the evils of the world. She is the use of strength to support the weak and defend the helpless. She is a guardian of civilization, a supporter of law and Justice, and a protector of the world.

Holy Books & Codes
The theology of Viridian is one of vigilance and personal growth. The goddess calls on her people to constantly examine their own motives and to never use their strength for personal gains.
Since the reformation of her church in what remains of Arakeen, Viridian has caused for her priests to compile a holy text to spread the word of peace. This text, called The Seraph’s Word is a conversational text in which the writers asks questions about the nature of law, service, honor, virtue and the nature of the world. These questions are answered by Viridian herself and are written in the book in an enchanted silver ink.
To prevent her word from being corrupted, the books are enchanted to be incapable of being copied. The only way to create a new copy of The Seraph’s Word is to use the 2nd level clerical spell: Create Holy Symbol.

Tenets of Faith
The priesthood of Viridian has learned from the mistakes of their forbears. The world of Meaghana is a place of great danger, and the only way to be able to insure peace in the face of such danger is to be willing and able to defend it. Where once the followers of Viridian advocated pacifism, they now advocate vigilance, and the support of the community to stand against the barbarism of aggressive war. The only exception to this is the active conflict that the priesthood holds with the churches of the evil gods especially Omadon; who is seen as a direct opposition to peace and security.
Rituals: Due to the recent return of the Goddess, there has been little time to form new rituals. The focus of the church being within Arakeen has led to several military style blessings. Including, the blessing of armor, where the priest's armor is treated with the smoke of the incense of White oak wood, to beg the goddess' protection upon the cleric and those they would defend.
To symbolize the openness of the faith, daily prayers are performed at the height of midday. This is the time of greatest light, and the shadows that hide evil and strife are nearly non-existent. The priests believe that the prayers made at this time are favored greatly by the Goddess, who had to listen only to the voice of Strife for so long.
