The Plains of Arraako

Clans of the plains: There are an uncountable number of clans that roam the plains of Arraako. They are constantly warring with each other, every year many clans are wiped out and just as many are formed. Most clans are started by a Warleader who's lead a successful raid against a rival clan, when that Warleader has performed a feat that earns him enough clout that his or her raid group will follow him out of the clan.  Clans can also be formed if enough people disagree with the clan leader but don't have enough strength to overthrow them, these clans don't often last long.  The new clan names are decided by the new Clan leaders, when they are made by Warleaders that have the blessing of the former clan often use something that contains the old clan name, as an example clan becomes offshoot-clan.  When they are made by dissenting people without the old clan leaders blessing they are often completely different sometimes even the old name in reverse.  Despite the apparent animosity the clans have to each other they will all band together to drive away outsiders. The differing sizes of some clans mean that one clan leader can attempt to challenge another to add another's clan to their own, the challenged clan leader will set the rules of the trial but most often it is single combat between the clan leaders, or group combat between two groups of the same size.     Raids vs Challenges: The clans all raid each other constantly, it's why they are so nomadic, but there is a difference between raids and clan challenges.  Raids happen at random with no warning, one clan makes a raid group and then sends them at another clan's camp and the they fight and take what supplies they can.  Clan challenges are different, the challenging clan sends an unarmed messenger under the flag of Idu    Plainsmen nomenclature: Clan Name, First name   The Five Great Clans: Kanah- The smallest of the Five Great Clans the Kanah primarily follow the teachings of Idu. The Kanah clan is primarily composed of centaurs and minotaurs and is the most nomadic of all the clans, most camps lasting less than a week. Whenever the clan stops for a while they are harvesting fruits and grains from wild trees and bushes, they then make those harvests into delicious spirits.     The Gray Wastes: To the south of the Plains are the Grey Wastes. There is a line where all vegetation growth stops, and no beast will cross. On the other side of this line the sands start to turn grey as if the very color had died

Peaceful, Mercantile

The People of the Kingdoms often hire Clans from the Plains as mercenaries to attack the Republic in deniable raids and use them to test the defenses, but otherwise the Plainsmen are seen as somewhat primitive and savage.
